Quick Healthy Breakfast Recipes

Citrus Berry Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 1/4 cup fresh berries
3/4 cup low-fat plain yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tablespoon nonfat dry milk
1 tablespoon toasted wheat germ
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Place berries, yogurt, orange juice, dry milk, wheat germ, honey and vanilla in a blender and blend until smooth.




Bagel Gone Bananas


Ingredients:

2 tablespoon natural nut butter, such as almond, cashew, or peanut
1 teaspoon honey
1 pinch salt
1 whole-wheat bagel, split and toasted
1 small banana, sliced

Directions:

Stir together nut butter, honey, and salt in a small bowl. Divide the mixture between bagel halves and top with banana slices.



Mexi-Melt


Ingredients:

2 tablespoon canned nonfat refried beans
1 slice whole-wheat bread, toasted
1 tablespoon prepared salsa
1 tablespoon shredded cheese, such as Mexican blend or Jack

Directions:

Spread beans on toast. Top with salsa, then cheese. Microwave on High until the cheese is melted and the beans are hot, about 45 seconds.
